Firefighters are battling a huge blaze at a factory in Laverton North, Melbourne.
The blaze broke out about 2pm on Tuesday and has engulfed what appears to be a pile of scrap or rubbish at a factory on Plummer Ave.
7NEWS chopper images show a huge plume of smoke coming from the fire.
Residents in surrounding areas such as Altona, Port Melbourne, Sunshine, West Footscray and Williamstown may see and smell smoke, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) said.

“Keep away from the area,” FRV said.
